In my last stay in Sakae in Feburary 2002, I was shocked to see accumulation of garbage in the kitchen and in the veranda. Sometimes it is hard to dispose of gabage when your departure date does not coincide with the collection day. But the amount of garbage left in the apartment was beyond the acceptable level. Especially things in the veranda were left to be abandoned as if the veranda were a garbage dump site. Some items were dumped there because some of you left them in the apartment without asking me for permission.

Now the burnable trash is collected on Mondays and Thursdays.

Recyclable plastic bottles must be put in a plastic garbage back used for the burnable or a transparent bag at the collection site by the children's play ground on the road in front of the apartment on the corner across from Bakery "Panda Panda" on Tuesdays (or maybe Wednesday). Plastic bootles for water and soft drink (pet bottles) are marked recyclable as a triangle made of three arrows with a number at the center and these should be cleansed and put in a bag as for the burnables or a transparent one. Bottles of shampoo etc, bento trays/package material, plastic bags, styrofoam etc, all of which should be cleansed and in a similar but a separate bag as for pet bottles. Caps of pet bottles are grouped as recyclable plastic.

Plastic toys, bucket, washing basin etc should be disposed as non-burnable. However, paper and plastic wrapping should be disposed as burnable.

Non-burnable include tooth paste tubes, batteries (AA,AAA etc not a car batter), cans, glass bottles (separate according to color), metal pieces are collected on a spearate day (Fridays).

The days of the week mentioned may not accurate as I don't have the instruction with me right now. Accurate days of the week when you can dispose of certain garbage are listed on a kitchen wall of the apartment, so take a look at it.

The status of the apartment except for the garbage problem seemed better than before but the bathroom needs to be cleaned better especially the door and some red fungus. When you finsh taking a shower, leave the window open even in winter. Those of you who cut your beard or mustache should clean hair tips on the washing basin.

I bought a set of vacuum cleaner bags which seemed to have been missing for a long time. In general clean the apartment including the kitchen, toilet, washing basin and bathroom at least every two weeks.

You are allowed to leave your personal items in the apartment if you plan to come back as long as they do not occupy too much space-leave some space for other people. When you leave the apartment for good, take all your belongings with you. If you want to leave anything, ask me for permission.

Perishable cooking items such as oil should be disposed of properly when the validation date expires.

Recently the drain pipe under the washing machine was clogged couple of times. Usually you can temporarily solve this problem with special chemical you can buy at a supermarket. But the real cuase of this problem is piece of fabric mostly from the dryer. Clean the dryer filter everytime you used the dryer. Also clean a pocket net in the washing machine everytime you use the washing machine.

When you leave to the US and know that nobody will come within a week, dispose of all the perishable food and turn off the main power switch.

Any damage you make or found in the apartment should be reported to me without delay.
